E-Clip Tutorial

The following shows tool modifications and use of tools to remove and install e-clips such as those on modern German movements

This shows the tools. The "hook" is from one of the commonly available probe/pick sets from a hardware store. The pliers have had one jaw shortened about 1/16 inch.

This next  picture shows the removal tool in use. Holding the e-clip against the thumb while pulling the e-clip loose from the post will keep it from flying off into outer space (maybe).

Next is shown installation of the e-clip. Placing the short plier jaw on the post and the long jaw on the back of the e-clip ( the closed side). The e-clip is first placed into position with fingers, tweezers or pliers.
